Settle up and refunds
[to review] Three different things: a refund is about an expense, Settle up records a payment between two people and Forgive lets a debt go.
The refund
It is money coming back for an expense: a return to a shop, a cancelled flight, insurance paying out. Tap +, choose Refund and then the expense it comes from. It is split like the expense and each person's share goes down. A refund can't exceed the expense.
Settle up
It records a payment between two people, in cash, by bank transfer or otherwise. The app doesn't move money: you make the payment and record it here. You find it on the person's page.
It counts straight away, with no confirmation, and the other person gets a notice. If it doesn't look right to them, they can delete it. In a group another member can record it too.
Forgive
Use it when someone owes you money and you decide to let it go, all or part of it. The balance goes down with no payment. Only whoever is owed the money can do it.
Recorded by mistake
A payment can be deleted and restored by either person. A forgiven amount can be deleted and restored only by whoever did it.
