Budget: every euro in its place
The Budget is a part of Allotti that you open whenever you want from the Share tab. With Allotti you decide up front how much to give each envelope: home, groceries, going out. Every expense, even one split with others, only takes your share from its envelope: you always see what's left.

October budget
Groceries€120 left
Home€50 left
Going out€55 left
Transport€40 left
How to open it
Nothing changes until you want it: go to Share and tap This month's budget: To assign and the envelopes appear. Expenses, People and Accounts stay as they were.
How it works
To assign
Income lands here and waits for a place: you assign it, envelope by envelope.
Only your share
A €90.00 dinner for three? €30.00 comes out of your envelope.
What's left over
At the end of the month it stays in the envelope: start again from the same amount or let it grow.
If you overspend
An expense is never blocked: Allotti tells you and suggests covering it from another envelope or from To assign.
An example
Your salary arrives and you share it out across the month's envelopes.
| Movement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Salary, into To assign | €1,800.00 |
| To the Home envelope | €700.00 |
| To the Groceries envelope | €300.00 |
| To the Going out envelope | €150.00 |
| Still to assign | €650.00 |
A €90.00 dinner split three ways takes €30.00 from the Going out envelope: €120.00 is left.
Questions about the budget
Do I need to connect my bank?
No. You record your expenses, or they come in from your groups with your share.
Can I use just the budget?
Yes, even without groups and without splitting with anyone.
What is an envelope?
A place for the money for one kind of spending: what you put in minus what you spent. You always see what's left.
What if To assign goes below zero?
It means you spent more than you had assigned: Allotti flags it so you can adjust your envelopes.
