Findable by name
[to review] Findable by name decides whether people who use the app can find you by searching your first and last name. It stays off until you turn it on.
Turn it on or off
Go to Profile, then Your account, and choose Let people find me by name. If you turn it on, people who use the app can find you by searching your first and last name. If you turn it off, they no longer find you that way.
Even when it's off
Whoever knows your email or phone number can send you a contact request even if Findable by name is off. The app never tells whoever types an email or a number whether that person has signed up: they only find out if you accept.
The contact request
To add to an expense outside groups someone who already uses the app, you need to be contacts. A request can be accepted or declined. The sender never sees a refusal and, after a few refusals, can't send more for a while. Anyone who opens one of your links, instead, becomes your contact straight away.
